Some stuff I bought from Taiwan...







Feel like buying black skiiny jeans but the whole world seems to be wearing them... Geez... We'll see eh..

Bought a shimmery silver dress yesterday. So pretty yet costs $50 only.. Heh... Cheap cheap.... Will take photos of it once I wear it.

Played with the makeup I bought from Taiwan last night. Everything is sooo pretty... Regret buying so few of them.. Boo...

When you like diamonds, look @ working clothes, play with makeup... Does this mean that you are getting old?
Sheesh...
I think I'm getting old... Boohoo.......

On the day when I was due to come back from Taiwan, Janice dreamt of me lying on the ground, all bruised and in pain. She woke up in tears.

On the exact same day, I dreamt that I will never see my sister again. I woke up, disturbed and worried.

Don't you think it's damn spooky?

Luckily nothing happened to either of us.

Ecks.

And so this is the last night where I can stone till the wee hours...

Day 6: 6/6/07

Visited the CKS memorial hall. Someone has supposedly changed the name to "National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall", so yeah.. I kinda know the reason.

Apparently, CKS is sort of like a dictator to the Taiwanese (according to the volunteer that spoke to us). So the government (or someone la!!) doesn't think it's appropriate to dedicate a memorial hall to such a person, and hence the name change.

Quite cool eh!! To know more about the history, can make a trip down there. Hohoho..

Another big piece of land.



It was the tallest building in the world next- Taipei 101.
Each one had to pay S$15 to enter. Kinda ex but bo bian... Once in a lifetime man...

We took the world's fastest elevator eh.. Hoho... Faster than the one in office....

Paid an additional S$5 to go to the open area...
It will be very difficult to commit suicide there cos of the fencing. You basically can't la...

After freezing our asses off, we went to a nearby shopping centre, only to find this.......

We went to Shilin night market again. But it was pouring like nobody's business so we went for ktv instead.
Taiwan's ktv is the best la!!
Out of a 12 storey building, 9 are for ktv.
Each room has your own toilet (that they clean for you before you enter), lots of tv screens, adjustable air conditioning (K-box please learn this.. *rolls eyes*), free flow of drinks, free sweets and hot water for the throat blah blah blah...
All these for S$16. Cheap until LS la..
Hohohoh...

Their system will also judge you on your singing and give you a score everytime you finish a song. Hoho.. Interesting eh!
Sadly to say, I got the lowest score.
But but but...............
Mr Koo got the highest la....

I wanna digress by saying that Mr Koo can sing like nobody's business. I think he is even better than Youreng la.. (No offense to Youreng though.) Jeffrey and Jiahui agreed with me therefore I'm like sooooo NOT biased la.
I secretly recorded a video of him singing but he forbid me to post online. Grrrrrrrr.........

Day 7: 7/6/07

Day 7 and we are running out of things to do. *sheepish grin*
So we went to search for "Bian Dang" (lunch box) and found one @ their train station.
So we bought 4 boxes of "bian dang" and all sorts of food from 7-11 and ate beside the escalator. Very paiseh I know. Hee.. But nvm.. since we are tourists. =P


Took the train (instead of the MRT) to Wu Fen Pu.


Saw Mr Lee there while I was buying my bro's polo tee.
How coincidental can it get!!
We don't meet up in Singapore but get to see each other in Taipei.

Anyway, he is like freaking skinny now la.. Tot he went for plastic surgery. Hoho...
He's is supposed to intorduce the clubbing scene to us, but the plan didn't came through cos we are all quite tired. Oh wells...
Must must organise a Block 52 gathering someday.. Heh....

Day 8: 8/6/07

Wandered around in WFP again.

We also walked to 3 or 4 Watsons (around Taipei) to find the mascara that I want. It's like freaking sold out everywhere. Girls like to order it online, so I bought for all my girlfriends. Teehee.. Hopefully it's good...

Don't remember much of the day but I know I was trying to spend all my money.

Went to Shilin night market again and bought a S$40 trucker cap. Expensive I know.. But aiyah.... Too much NT$ left.
We then bought all sorts of Taiwanese snacks and gorge in the hotel room.
Last time to eat them man.. Boo!!

Day 9: 9/6/07

Woke up, ate breakfast, rushed to Ximending to buy Mister Donut back to Singapore and headed to the airport.



After hanging out in Taipei for 9 days, I realised quite many things:-
1) They are a Vespaa-loving country.
Everyone rides on a scooter. Hard to find those sport bikes that we find in Singapore.

2) Taiwanese loves dogs like nobody's business.
You will see dogs everywhere you go. On the train, in shops blah blah blah. Everywhere man!!!!!!!!

3) They are damn onz about recycling.
There are recycling bins everywhere, even in KFC.

4) The MRT commuters are really considerate.
They stand on the right of the escalator (AUTOMATICALLY) , they queue for the train (not hound around the door) and they usually don't sit on their "priority seats" (meant for pregnant ladies, elderly and those with kids). Awwwwwwww..... damn sweet la...
Try finding that in Singapore. -_-"

5) Their rains are power man..
Out of the 9 days we were there, it was raining 24/7 for 6 freaking days... Quite frustrating but I guess it's better than hot stuffy Singapore. Boo.......

The only negative point is to be careful when crossing the roads cos they dont really care if pedestrains are crossing. So watch it, if not you may die in a foreign land. Hoho...

I'm like finally done with this post. Tiring la... I'm still missing Taiwan but it's getting better. Whatever it is, it's so so cool to visit a new country and experience the culture and interact with the people there. Need to save up and visit another country next year.

But if there is ever a chance, me wanna migrate to Taiwan!!! =P

Just received a call from office. Kinda woke me up from my holiday mood. 2 more days and I will be back in office. Sobz.

Day 4: 4/6/07

Hired a cab driver to drive us around the North-eastern side of the country.

1st stop: Yeliu Park.


Enjoyed myself at the park cos what you learnt during Geography comes alive in front of your eyes.. All the erosion yada yada yada... Damn cool la!!!

Next stop was Shifen Waterfall. Hoho.... Makes me wanna go vist Niagara Falls..

Prior to this, our taxi driver treated us to "Bing Lan" (betel nuts). It tasted like some spice actually..

Anyway, he told us that "Bing Lan Xiaojie" are those in spags and shorts and "Bing Lan Xi Shi" are those in bikini tops and thongs.
We didn't manage to see any "Xi Shi", only "Xiaojie" and "Ah ma" selling betel nuts.

3rd stop was to Jiufen.
It's like a tourist place on the top of the mountain.. Quite nice actually.
The pineapple tarts are the best!! Especially when it's warm. Yums.


Had smelly beancurd. Yummy.
Out of the 4, I'm the only one that likes to eat. It's smells damn good actually....

Headed to this mini stop to take photos next. Really impressed with Mother Nature.



It was Guanyin Temple and Night market next.

Our last stop was some pier where you can buy the seafood from the wet market and cooked it in the restaurant.

The food was fresh, but we were not used to way they cooked.
Malaysia seafood is still the best la... =)


Day 5: 5/6/07

Koo and I wandered around... Had KFC at Ximending 1st.
The fast food outlets there dont provide chilli sauce at all.. Only pepper.

Anyway they were promoting this custard thingy in KFC, which was really tasty.
Eh Singapore....... bring it in lei... It's damn nice la...


Went to their SOGOs and bought some bo liao stuff.
Classic Coke. The cake that Xiaodingdang eats.


Met up with Jeffrey & Jiahui to visit Mr Sun's Memorial Hall.
Taiwan has lots of space man.. Can dedicate such a big area to their "Guo Fu" (Founding father).



Could see Taipei 101 from the memorial hall.

Guys can propose to their gfs using this method man.. So sweet... Teeheee...


Headed off to Wu Fen Pu, my shopping haven. Didn't take any photos cos I was busy buying clothes. Hoho...

Back from Taipei........

9 days whizzed past and I'm back to reality.

I really miss Taiwan.

Day 1: 1/6/07

Watched 200 Pounds Beauty on SQ. Not bad a show. But don't think I will pay to watch it in the cinema.

Our 1st photo in Taipei. Heh..


Reached the hotel, unpacked and headed for Ximending (which was like 5 minutes away).

Our 1st meal. Tamagoya aka "Dan Dan Wu" (Egg house la..)


Went to Shilin night market after that and ate our way around.
They have so many different snacks.. Yums.

The real Ji Pai. Singapore's version is crap la.. Seriously.

Day 2: 2/6/07

Had breakfast @ the hotel. The variety is pathetic but it's better than nothing I guess.. -_-"
Headed off to Beitou for some hotspring action. Hehehe..

The hot spring is damn shiok la... I love the sulphur smell.. the freaking hot water.. the breeze. Everything man... =)

It was Danshui and Fisherman's Wharf next. Ate our way through again...
Their "Ba Yee" (meatball) looked and tasted disgusting... But other than that, the snacks were yummy. Hoho.
This place was apparently Jay Chou's favourite when he was studying in Danshui. We didn't try it though cos we were too damn full by then...



Played the balloon shooting game and Koo won a humongous hammer. Teehehee.. Going to give it to Diondion.

Took the ferry to Fisherman's Wharf and saw the sunset.
Taiwanese are lucky to have such a beautiful place to go during weekends...



SHE was having a concert @ Fisherman's Wharf the next day.. It was just too bad that we went on a Sat. -_-"
(Speaking of which, SHE is damn hot in Taiwan la. We could hear their songs everywhere we went... The song here is also by them and Fei Lun Hai. Nice eh?!)

Anyway we went back to Shilin again and the whole of Singapore was there man.. So damn crowded.. We gave up and went back to the hotel.

Day 3: 3/6/07

Went to Taipei's underground malls. But the things there are soooo auntie-fied that I got bored after awhile. But I tasted the yummiest guava there... Kinda different from Singapore...

Proceeded to my favourite restuarant, Ding Tai Fung. I wanted to try their "ancestor" since Singapore's is so tasty. But the taste was kinda disappointing. Damn disappointing actually. I prefer Singapore's version cos the Taiwan's dishes were kinda bland. -_-"

Oh wells...
Anyway I found it hilarious when we told the hotel uncle that we didnt like DTF and he got kinda irritated. He didn't understand why we dont fancy it. Maybe he should fly over here and try it for himself eh.. Hohho...

Went to the shopping centres and the stuff was damn expensive!!! Everything was like $100 plus.. For brands that I have never hear before... -_-"
So I got bored again and we went back to XMD.

Headed to another night market and had disgusting "Ou Jian" (Oyster omelette). It was ECKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway Sunday was disappointing la.. Boo...

Will blog about the rest of the trip later.. Lazy already... But I'm really feeling depressed cos I'm back in Singapore.. Sob. =(
